Fonts are an important part of a design, whether we are talking about web projects or desktop applications. The font you choose for the text on your pages or your windows has to match both the theme and the purpose of the application. While most, if not all editors have built-in font preview, and so has Windows, there is a drawback: you can only see one font at a time. To the rescue comes Fonty.

Fonty is a very simple software utility that enables you to preview all the installed fonts on your system within the same window.

It practically merges all the preview windows for all the fonts, which allows you to view how a piece of text will look like when a specific font is selected, in comparison with the other choices you have.

Another plus is that you can type in a custom text instead of settling for the standard "quick brown fox" one. Moreover, you can modify the size of the text. This way, you can wittingly select the perfect font for your project.

While it has undeniable advantages, Fonty does not allow you to move preview boxes around. To be more specific, it displays the input text in all the available fonts, but only in the default order. It would come in handy to have the possibility to choose two or more texts and preview them side-by-side in a separate window, eventually with built-in zooming options for a close comparison.

Fonty can come in handy to web and application designers alike. While the idea behind it is practical, there are a few more tweaks that, if implemented, would help a designer choose the right font easier.
