Free Font Renamer, as the name suggests, is a self-explanatory software utility designed to be used mainly by computer rookies. If you have a huge collection of fonts installed on your computer, you might find it useful to have an application that can assign each font a corresponding and meaningful name.

There is nothing special about the interface that Free Font Renamer comes with. The main window is split into two parts, the first section allows you to browse through your hard drive or remote partitions, while the second panel displays details about each font file, such as its name, style, designer or embeddability.

When trying to organize large collections of fonts with numerous folders, you can rename all the files by choosing to include sub-folders. Font files can be renamed by selecting either the upper or lower case conversion method, but you can also change their titles without using letter cases. Plus, you can remove white spaces from names.

If the program stumbles upon characters that cannot be used in filenames, like dashes, quotations or exclamation marks, it simply removes them. In addition to this, for filenames with double spaces, Free Font Renamer removes the extra blank space.

To sum up, Free Font Renamer is a software tool that does exactly what it is expected, it offers you a quick means to rename font files with a single mouse click. It runs on light system resources and during our evaluation the program worked smoothly, causing no problems.
