Fractal Wallpaper Maker

Fractals are infinitely complex patterns that are self-similar across different scales. They are created by repeating a simple process over and over in an ongoing feedback loop. And since they naturally appear in nature, maybe that is why we find them so appealing.  Fractal Wallpaper Maker helps you create these stunning graphical phenomena and use them as wallpapers.

The software tool features no main screen or tutorial and gets straight to the page where you generate fractals. You select the type of fractal you want, slide the 'variation" bar to see which appeals to you most, then all you do is tweak around with the contrast, brightness, and the color variation.  The color palette and the way it can be balanced out give way to beautiful combinations of colors, while the brightness and contrast sliders can be used to create amazing neon-glow effects.

One thing that was noticed about this app is that the fractals it generates are not "true" fractals as they cannot be zoomed indefinitely. Once you zoom in a couple of times you can already see the blockiness of the pixels. Another drawback is the app's ability to save the created images only in PNG format

Nonetheless, if we consider the application's purpose is to generate wallpapers, then the images are perfect for use even on  1920x1080 resolution monitors. Another thing that was noticed was that  Fractal Wallpaper Maker lacks more fractal patterns as the ones currently available are nowhere near enough to be considered truly "diverse".

All things considered,  Fractal Wallpaper Maker is a good app for generating unique desktop wallpapers, but if your purpose is to generate fractals, there are other applications out there.
