Ah, GIFs! No matter how you choose to pronounce them, they’re probably one of the greatest invention in multimedia history. As much as we love all types of memes, it’s hard to match the reaction power of a single, short, self-contained moving image.

We will welcome any app that purposelessly provides us with more GIFs. Hello there, GIFme, what can you do for us today?

While the Giphy database is already integrated with a lot of social media platforms and other applications, GIFme is a lightweight tool that you can easily use directly from your desktop. Simply write a word, search it and the app instantly gives you a GIF. If you’re not satisfied with the result, just click next.

Once you find an image that’s relevant enough for whatever banter you’re engaged in, copy the link and paste it wherever you have to. Or, if you’re not engaged in any banter at the moment, just save the moving image to your computer for later use.

What’s great about GIFme is that you don’t even have to use its buttons; you can just grab a GIF with your mouse and drag it on your desktop, in a folder, in a chat window or directly on social media. The app is really designed to work fast and not feel like just a useless decoration for your desktop.

However, one bug may prevent you from fully enjoying the program. Even though GIFme will open and stay in your system tray, you will only be able to close it if you use Task Manager. This is very inconvenient if you’re trying to lighten the load on the system’s memory, but GIFme is pretty lightweight and the bug doesn’t have any impact the program’s functionality.

To conclude, GIFme is nothing amazing, but it may a “useful” tool if you’re a person that wants to have a GIF ready for any situation.
