Treasure Island - Realtime3D is exactly what the name says. This beautiful island recreation is a 3D representation of an unnamed island in the middle of the ocean or sea. The beautiful thing is you get to choose what it actually is. The added sound effects make this a great option to spend a few minutes in a relaxing setting. It could also be a great productivity booster if you decide to use it for your brainstorming sessions, for example.

While it really isn't something to write home about, the fact that it creates this 3D space without a purpose leaves a lot of room for adapting it to plenty of uses. It is unfortunate that it really doesn't bring more. It's a great base for a bigger project, but in its current state, the only thing one can do is spend a few minutes meditating or relaxing. The controls feel quirky, and it is unfortunate, as walking around this 3D setting could actually have done wonders.

Just like mentioned before, although it can't really stand up by itself, if one is to adapt it to some sort of project, it could become an interesting story to follow. It could even serve as a great starting point for a video game. Built on the Irrlicht-Engine using NVIDIA Cg-Toolkit, the tech behind it seems accessible enough to any developer looking for a first step in the right direction.

Treasure Island - Realtime3D is an application that might not interest one at first. It's definitely nothing to come back to for a long time at this point, but it could very well function as some sort of therapeutic treatment for those who find themselves in quite a lot of stress these days.
