Sure enough you can go a day longer without any food, but it’s not really the smartest thing to do. However, if you need to keep up with a regular diet or plan, you can use specialized computer applications to remind you of meals you need to eat. One suitable example is Chef365, which help you plan the entire food menu for the whole year.

Although it’s a default feature in modern Windows iterations, you need to check whether or not .NET Framework is installed on your computer before you can take advantage of all the application has to offer. On the other hand, Chef365 skips you the installation process, and can thus be used directly from a thumb drive.

The application gets its name from the coverage of every day of the year, or at least in theory. The main window consists of an organized table with 365 independent rows, each representing a day of the year. Hitting the “today” button jumps directly to the current day, according to your system time configuration.

There are two columns standing for lunch and dinner. Editing is done on the spot, with a simple double-click on a cell allowing you to write or paste any text strings, but without any format options. Sure enough, it can take some time to fill it in one day, so you might as well start from the current, or next day.

All data is saved under a CSV file on exit so the whole effort investing in filling up each cell isn’t in vain. The CSV file’s layout is pretty intuitive, and you can just as well add all values directly inside if it’s more comfortable.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Chef365 comes with good intentions, but without some strong ambition on your behalf, keeping up with the entire plan can be a little tricky, especially because of the lack of any alarm systems, or better ways to emphasize specific meals.
