High Contrast Calculator

High Contrast Calculator is a Metro-style application dedicated to PC users who have trouble with the eyesight and need reading glasses to use calculators.

It has large, flat buttons that can be easily clicked or tapped, thanks to the fact that the Modern UI has contrasting colors, namely a black background with white text.

Since it's a Microsoft-trusted application, the math calculator can be downloaded and installed only from the Windows Store. It can be later pinned to the Start Screen or Menu for quick access.

Commands can be sent to the simple calculator by either clicking the buttons or pressing the corresponding keys on your keyboard.

When it comes to the range of supported math functions and operators, you can perform addition (+), multiplication (x), division (÷) and subtraction (-), use the decimal point (.) insert positive and negative numbers (±), and delete the last entered digit.

Full expressions are not supported by this standard calculator, though, which means that the current number disappears from the screen when entering a new one.

Besides the fact that you can take a screenshot of High Contrast Calculator and share it using another one of your installed Modern UI apps, such as Microsoft OneNote or Twitter, there are no other options implemented by the developer.

All things considered, High Contrast Calculator serves its purpose, giving users with poor eyesight the possibility to calculate simple operations in a large widnow with hard-to-miss buttons.

It's ideally used on mobile devices with touch support, so you can use it whenever you're on the move. On the other hand, it's not a scientific calculator with support for trigonometry, logarithms, parentheses, combinations, factorial, permutations, and other advanced functions.
