Instantranslate

When working with content available in multiple languages, and you need to translate it quickly, most services designed for this purpose will probably seem a bit too cumbersome.

Instantranslate is an Electron-based application that provides you with a quick and easy way to translate text as soon as it is copied to the clipboard. It lacks advanced features at present, but it is easy to use and incredibly convenient.

Once the application has been launched, you will see a small window on your desktop where the translated text will be displayed. When you send something to the clipboard, it is usually processed in no more than a couple of seconds.

Of course, you first need to open the program’s settings and select the language to which text should be translated. The font size is also customizable, and the application can ignore line breaks.

Instantranslate’s UI design is very simplistic, as there are only a couple of buttons to be found – one for starting or pausing the service and one for accessing the settings. No alternative color themes are available, which may be an issue for some users.

Other than what we have already mentioned, the application does not come with any noteworthy features. Most importantly, texts you have translated in the past are not saved, which can be problematic if you accidentally copy something else to the clipboard.

It is worth keeping in mind that Instantranslate is an ongoing project, and this is an early release that will likely be improved in the future. It can still prove very helpful even in its current state, however, as it makes it remarkably easy to translate text straight from your desktop.
