Map Chart Creator

Using various colors on maps can make a huge difference in how the information that needs to be conveyed is perceived by the end-user. Resorting to various shades of a different color for depicting the amplitude of a certain value can portray statistical data in a very efficient manner. Map Chart Creator will allow you to easily create such maps, using a simple country listing view, with manually adjustable values and HTML output renders for the resulting charts.

Users will be presented with a list view of all the countries, coupled with a field that holds the values for each. Editing that value is quite simple and once all the preferred values have been adjusted, generating the corresponding map is instantaneous.

It might not be the most comprehensive approach, but the value input field only supports integer numbers. One cannot perform batch editing of the values, this being achievable only by importing the values from a pre-existent file.

The list of defined values can be saved to disk into CSV format, which makes things easier when wanting to work with pre-defined values. Editing the list in Excel for further processing means that loading values can be done much faster.

The resulting map will be rendered into HTML format and the final layout also includes an amplitude legend, for the depicted values. There is, however, no option of altering the color (green) of the default map ramp.

This application is a good tool for those who wish to create maps that can portray statistical values across the world’s countries. With a simple input method and supporting CSV format as import, it renders basic ramp maps into HTML format.
