Matrix Guru

It's not easy to perform calculations with matrixes, especially if their order is higher than three. Fortunately, applications such as Matrix Guru can provide assistance in processing such operations, which otherwise would be prone to human error.

Matrix Guru is capable of performing additions and multiplications between two matrices of a given order (up to 250x250), while also allowing you to calculate determinants, find the inverse of a matrix or transpose it, determine the matrix of minors, find its adjoint or its co-factor matrix.

Other operations enable you to determine the row Echelon form, and perform simultaneous equations, meaning Matrix Guru can solve two-equation systems.

While there might be no reproach regarding functionality, Matrix Guru does get a few blackballs when it comes to appearance and user experience. The interface seems outdated, and the secondary windows have an unfinished look.

But probably the most annoying thing about it is the way input data is provided. You can choose the matrix order, and then you are obliged to enter the values one by one until the matrix is filled. You can imagine what happens if you want to perform calculations for a matrix of large order.

What's worse, the input field is not reset, so each time you want to type in a new value, you have to first select and delete the previous one. The 'OK' button is not associated with the Enter key, so you have to navigate to it with your mouse button each time a new value is provided.

Matrix Guru can come in handy to students in high-school or college, post and under-graduates, allowing them to perform complex calculations easier. However, a bit of negligence as far as the user experience is concerned might cause a potential user to drop this application and look for alternatives.
