Metamorphosec German Word Scramble

Learning a new language requires not only a lot of will and practice, but also a proper set of tools ready to facilitate the learning process and make things a little easier. Combining the pleasure of playing a game with the need of improving language skills, Metamorphosec German Word Scramble aims to help you practice German in an entertaining manner.

The application features two modes: the training mode and the test mode. As the name suggests, the training mode helps you practice the game, providing you with less than one hundred exercises. Each consists in rearranging the letters of a word to build a meaningful word in the German language. It is not possible to type in the letters in the right order, as you must select and move them around using the arrows in the main window. Frankly, this is quite annoying and frustrating, since the form below could be easily made editable to enter the correct answer.

If at some point you get stuck and have no idea what the right solution is, you can use the hint button to see the right position of two letters in the word. The hint button is then grayed out and you cannot use it again for the same word. The application can also show you the correct answer if you cannot find it yourself.

The Test mode is similar to the practice mode, except that it is not possible to see the final solution. The hints still exist, and you can use them once for every word to see the correct position of two letters.

Every test includes ten questions that you must answer, and the result is shown at the end, in the designated tab. A summary of your activity is shown, including the number of correct and wrong answers, the number of occupied hints, point deductions, the test grade and the status: failed or passed. Learning from mistakes is highly encouraged, as all the correct answers are shown.

Metamorphosec German Word Scramble can help you improve your German vocabulary in a fun way by playing a game where the letters in a word are scrambled. Unfortunately, there are some annoyances that become drawbacks, such as not being able to resize the window or enter the correct solution using the keyboard. Moreover, adding word translation inside the application could add to its value, since that would make it easier for the user to remember the German word and its meaning.
