The application comes with a straightforward user interface where each of its functions is neatly presented: Planner, Recipes, Menus and Shopping.

It is recommended to start by adding the recipes to create a database, then organize them in a menu, then send the ingredients to the shopping list and go buy them. The final step is to plan ahead for the week, and stick to the plan for each meal.

When entering a new recipe to Pepperplate, you need to specify its name, insert a description, enter the yield and the assigned categories, as well as a relevant URL and the total time it takes for you to cook it.

Moreover, you can attach a JPEG or PNG image to each recipe before setting up the ingredients list and the detailed instructions. A nifty function of the app is the one that allows you to scale the ingredients automatically, depending on the amount of portions you want to cook.

As previously mentioned, you can easily export the ingredients of any recipe to the shopping list and it automatically sorts them in corresponding categories.

This way, you can shop quicker when you know exactly what to look for: produce, bakery products, cheese, dairy, condiments, oil and vinegar, juice, spices and so on.

It goes without saying that you can add separate items to the shopping list, as long as you also assign them to the correct category.

Not only can you create sophisticated menus once you add enough recipes to Pepperplate, but you can also plan the meals for each day to the tiniest details. When you are ready to start cooking, you can start the built-in timer.
