Periodic Table for Windows 10/8.1

Periodic Table is an easy-to-use app designed for computers running Windows 10, 8.1 and 8, facilitating a simple interface for consulting the Mendeleev periodic table. It has detailed information about the chemical and physical aspects of elements, including photographs.

After downloading and installing it from the Microsoft Store, it gets seamlessly integrated with the Start Screen in Windows 8 or 8.1, or the Start Menu in Windows 10, so it can be launched like any other Metro app and pinned to the Start Screen or taskbar for fast access.

It has a fullscreen window with a dark theme and colorful groups for the elements. These correspond to Alkali (orange), Alkaline (brown), transition (light pink), lanthanide (dark pink), actinide (red), post-transition (blue), metalloid (turqoise), non-metal (dark green), halogen (light green), noble gas (purpose) and unknown (grey). These colors are customizable.

You can resort to a search tool to quickly locate a specific element by name, symbol or atomic number, and read more details about it, such as series, atomic number and weight, radioactive status, electron configuration, and pictures.

Moreover, you can find out info about the physical aspects (state, density, melting and boiling point, heat of fusion and vaporization, specific heat capacity, thermal conductivity) as well as atomic details (covalent radius, electronegativity, atomic radius and volume, ionization potential). Multiple views and orientation methods are available.

It worked smoothly in our tests, without triggering the operating system to hang, crash or indicate errors. CPU and RAM usage was minimal, so it didn't hamper the machine's performance.

On the other hand, Periodic Table doesn't come equipped with buttons for copying or exporting data. Nevertheless, it offers an enjoyable and practical solution for examining the periodic table.

Thanks to its attractive interface and straightforward options, it can be used with ease by students and teachers with no previous experience in such software products. The app's also available in the Windows Phone Store.
