Picture Hanger

Picture Hanger is a simple-to-use application that helps you figure out the distance from the floor at which you can hang a picture frame.

It features intuitive options that can be configured with ease and involve measuring the frame and walls.

Since it's a Metro app, the frame hanger can be installed on desktops and mobile devices with touch support to use it easier, as long as the platform is running Windows 8, 8.1 or 10.

It's packed in a Modern UI and doesn't require Internet access to work properly. You can use it to make calculations even when you're offline.

You can get started by measuring the photo frame from the outside edges as well as the distance between the top of the picture and hanger, which should be located right in the center. If there's a wire, pull it tight toward the center to measure from that point.

After entering these two values, click the "Calculate Picture Placement" button on the bottom-left side of the window. Then select a spot on the wall to place the photo, and measure the number of inches indicated by the app (from the floor).

There are some optional settings available. For example, if you want to obtain a specific height for the picture, enter the distance from the floor to the top of the frame.

To center the picture on the wall, set the wall's width, height or both in the application. The graphical representation can be used to double-check the distance from the floor to the center as well as top of the frame.

There are no options implemented for copying, printing or saving all info to file. However, because Picture Hanger gets integrated with the Windows share charm, you can take a screenshot and send the image to an external Modern UI app.
