RandyTab

RandyTab is a lightweight Windows application whose purpose is to provide assistance in designing tablatures for your favorite instruments.

The GUI provides a well-structured suite of features. A help manual cannot be accessed so you need to experiment with the built-in features in order to understand how the program works.

The utility gives you the possibility to import data from RTAB or RAT files, preview the tablature and make adjustments to it directly in the main window, view or hide note duration, as well as enable the real-time scrolling mode.

RandyTab lets you undo your actions, perform basic editing tasks (cut, copy, paste, delete), embed space, separator, comment, tempo marker, and power chords, as well as insert various effects, like tap, trill, harmonic, bend, tremolo, and slide.

What’s more, you can remove notes/effects and position, set up duration parameters (e.g. whole or half beat, dotted note), play MIDI songs, and configure MIDI settings (e.g. device, instrument, default note duration, volume).

You can export the tablatures to RTAB or RAT files so you can import and edit data in the future, preview the tablature before printing it, and make use of playback controls for listening to the song, such as go to the first, last, previous or next position, jump to the next or previous string, and access the start and end of the stave.

You are allowed to set up song attributes (e.g. title, artist, album, copyright), customize the tablature in terms of string spacing, number of strings, position width, stave spacing, and power chord size, alter the text font, as well as configure individual string tuning.
