The Stanford Geostatistical Modeling Software (SGeMS) is a software solution for solving issues involving spatially related variables.
It provides geostatistics practitioners with a user-friendly interface, an interactive 3-D visualization, and a wide selection of algorithms.
The application doesn't take long to install and it doesn't come with a complicated setup that you would need to complete before you can use its features. The first thing that you need to do after launching the application is to open a project.
You can check out various algorithms like utilities, simulation and estimation. Each of them is packed with neat tools that you can use in order to make calculations.
You have the option to adjust parameters for our algorithms before running them. You can change options for the simulation grid and set a property name prefix. You can add or view objects and load some from your device.
Other than that, it comes with the option to view information on your projects or make some adjustments for settings to meet your preferences. You can copy properties from one object and paste the information to another.
It comes with the option to create indicators for objects or make a new group for objects. Moreover, regions can be adjusted and the application allows you to view a histogram and adjust properties.
You can save the histogram as an image on your computer. It even comes with a variogram and the option to edit and run scripts inside the application. You also have the option to adjust settings in order to meet your preferences.
You can switch from perspective and orthotropic views or make changes to the colorbar. S-GeMS is a very nice application for solving problems involving spatially related variables.
What's new in S-GeMS 2.5 Beta:
- Improvements:
- Regions:
- All geostatical algorihtms can be constrained within a sub-space of a grid. This sub-space is defined by a region. The region is well implemented within the algorithms but had not been implemented for the visualization. This feature will be available in the next version (likely January 2012).
