Sharks RT

Sharks RT is a fun and educational application for Windows 8, 8.1 and 10, designed to teach you a couple of things about various types of sharks. In addition to text, it has graphical depictions of these fish.

The tool is optimized for touch-supported devices, such as tablets, thanks to the fact that it has big buttons for tapping. Because it has a local database with shark content, it doesn't need Internet access, so you or your child can learn about sharks even when offline.

After downloading and installing Sharks RT from the Windows Store, you're greeted by a clean and intuitive Modern UI, showing all available shark types right at startup, in addition to their length and weight: Basking, Bull, Mako, Whale, Blacktip Reef, Great White, Nurse, Blue, Hammerhead and Tiger Shark.

You can click one of the boxes to view in-depth information, namely lifespan, length, weight, appearance characteristics, speed, what food they eat, reproduction (range of pups), danger level, and habitat.

In the following step, you can either go back to select another shark from the main menu, or click the left and right arrow buttons to navigate the list. Unfortunately, the developer hasn't implemented any options for storing information to the clipboard, printing or saving it to file.

On the other hand, you can take a snapshot and share the image with someone else or save it on the computer, thanks to the fact that it gets integrated with the Windows share charm.

All things considered, Sharks RT offers a simple and fun way of learning more about ten types of sharks, where three of them are considered deadly to man. It's free to use.
