Shogi Explorer

If you enjoy playing Shogi and want to get better at it, then you need to analyze your games regularly to determine where you made mistakes and what you can improve. Shogi Explorer is a program that provides you with a platform to check out your game records thoroughly.

The program comes with a user-friendly interface where you can get started by loading the record that you want to analyze. Take note that the app solely works with certain formats, namely UTF-8 or Shift JIS KIF, which should be easy to find if you are playing on specialized Shogi websites. The files containing the records can be loaded from your disk, pasted from clipboard or HTTP links, if you are playing on official websites.

As far as the analysis is concerned, you can review the score displayed in centipawns along with the errors and blunders that you committed. It can be displayed on a XY plot that you can access from the graph tab. It is worth mentioning that you can also analyze single positions via the ‘Infinite’ engine mode; the positions on the board can be edited. If necessary, you can enable the ‘multipv’ in the engine configuration so that the tool displays multiple best lines.
