SimplePiano is a lightweight and easy-to-use application that helps you exercise and improve your piano skills.

It packs a simple and clean interface, which displays a virtual piano and a stave. You can switch to the full screen mode, place the virtual piano on any area of your desktop, as well as change its size according with your preferences.

The virtual piano can be controlled by using the computer keyboard, mouse, or a MIDI keyboard connected to the PC. Once you press the piano keys, the application is able to display the notes on the stave automatically, and this proves to pretty useful especially if you want to learn reading the notes.

You can select between eight types of chords and a wide range of instruments, such as acoustic grand piano, clavinet, electric piano, harmonica, jazz electric guitar, electric fingered bass, contrabass, orchestral harp, viola, violin, trumpet, whistle, steel drum, and many others.

SimplePiano offers users the possibility of selecting the output device, adjusting the volume, showing or hiding the keys, as well as testing their ability of recognizing notes by taking random note reading tests.

During our testing we have noticed that the application manages to display the notes on the stave accurately and without errors throughout the entire process. It offers good sound quality and manages to remain light on the system resources.
