Learn basic math operations like adding, subtracting, and multiplication through interactive, intuitive exercises with this lightweight Java application #Multiplication table #Math quiz #Mathematics test #Mathematics #Multiplication #Subtraction
Math can be a pain later on in school, but so can initial operations can seem difficult when you have no idea what all those symbols, and numbers do. Luckily, specialized applications like Maths Exercises are a neat way of teaching youngsters basic math operations in an interactive manner.
The application was built to run on the Java Runtime Environment, so you need to be sure it is installed on your computer before you can benefit from all it has to offer. This means it’s supported by other platforms, and since it requires no installation, it can easily be carried around on a thumb drive.
The initial window acts as a main menu to all types of exercises you can go through. As such, you can initiate lessons for multiplication, adding, and subtracting with values from 0 to 10, or 0 to 100. All types of exercises show up in their own window, and can be kept on the desktop at the same time.
Adding, and subtraction work in similar manners. A slim window displays an operation of the selected type with two random numbers from the selected range. Writing the input and hitting “Enter” either congratulates you, or informs you that the provided result is wrong. Unfortunately, there’s no possibility to configure any options related to the operation itself, and only two number operations can be performed.
As far as multiplication is concerned, the process is rather similar, but somehow presented in a more approachable manner. In other words, a large table shows up with all multiplication possibilities of numbers from 1 to 10. A random set is selected, and you need to provide the right answer, just as for previously mentioned exercises.
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Maths Exercises is a handy learning utility for youngsters taking first steps into learning basic math operations. Although there are little to no configuration options, the overall layout is intuitive, while portability provides the flexibility you need.
