The Wedding Planner

The Wedding Planner is a sophisticated yet simple application for Windows 8, 8.1, 10 designed to efficiently plan multiple weddings. It stores unique and specific information about this type of ceremony. It's installed through Windows Store and provides an easy-to-use and modern interface, with well-defined groups like budget, tasks, and address book.

On the home screen, the app offers a few predefined profiles that you can edit to get familiarized with its options, or simply create a new from scratch. A few details are needed, such as the bride and groom full names, the event date, and a small description. You can change the displayed picture, by browsing its location, and it's loaded almost instantly into the frame, which, unfortunately, can't be modified to another.

Once into your private account, six distinct categories can be seen: funds, guests, address book, to-do, table, and memos. The budget panel displays a detailed table with various records (e.g. ceremony, rings, party, or invitations), the available fund for each, as well as the cost, the amount paid, and the remaining budget. Custom groups may be added, if you find them important.

Tasks are structured in months and days left till the ceremony, in which specific assignments can be marked as completed or edited to best suit your needs. Address book comes in handy when you need to store more than one restaurant or involved hairdresser, so they can be found easier.

For each contact, you have to fill in the name, phone number, e-mail, and location. It would've been nice if the program provided a chart with all the available tables, to assign each person to a particular place, or drag and drop them in a predefined order. For the tool to load a guest, the person has to be added in the related category.

To sum it up, The Wedding Planner is a comprehensive and reliable program that lets you manage multiple weddings using a detailed planner, which can hold various useful information such as budget, suppliers or tasks to be accomplished.
