Future parents often argue about what the name of their child will be. If you need inspiration, you can check out the Internet to find out which boy and girl names are popular nowadays.

Top Baby Names is a Metro application designed for this purpose. It shows the top 40 boy and girl names to help you figure out which one is the right one for your child.

However, before proceeding any further, you should know that the developer hasn't updated this software product since 2013, so this top is no longer available. You can still use it to browse the list, though.

The biggest advantage of Top Baby Names is that it doesn't need Internet access to work. You can pull out your tablet and fire up the baby naming app even when you're on the move and offline.

It places the boy and girl names in different groups and cards, where the boys have blue cards and the girls have pink ones. According to the 2013 top, it displays the names in ascending order, where "Ethan" and "Emma" are first, while "Hunter" and "Stella" occupy the 40th position.

In addition to the baby names, the tool also shows the origin and meaning. Unfortunately, it doesn't provide a bit of history and mythology, which would have made it more interesting to study the names.

There are no options available for copying, printing or exporting information from all cards to file. On the other hand, you can take a screenshot using the Windows share charm, in order to save the picture or show it to your partner, family member or friend.

Too bad that Top Baby Names hasn't received updates in a long time. Otherwise, it's wrapped in a clean and elegant interface for viewing baby names, origins and meanings.
