The computer proves that it’s an incredibly powerful, multifunctional tool. It can aid in nearly any domain of activity, including education. There are various types of things you might want or need to learn, and teachMe is the type of application which can display terms and definitions to view and learn over time.

The application first takes you through a quick setup process to make all of its features functional. Note, however, that your computer needs to be fitted with .NET Framework for things to work as planned. The default configuration is brought up on launch, with three initial slots in which definitions are displayed.

The learning mode has you guess the definition of terms displayed in boxes. A progress bar fills up as you attempt to get the definition right, and a mouse click unveils it right away to see if you are correct. It changes constantly, and you can also add a rating from 1 to 5, depending on the difficulty you consider.

By default, the application comes with an English to Czech dictionary. However, it’s mostly there to serve as an example, and you have full control over entries. These are found in a table, which you can edit on the spot. You don’t necessarily have to provide translation to a different language, and you’re free to fill in from and to fields as you see fit.

In case you have an existing dictionary it can be loaded either from a CSV or SRT file. Priorities can be set which defines the recurrence of the item in the tab. Objects sit on the desktop on top of everything else. You can easily set the number of desktop objects, which can range from 1 to 5.

All things considered, we come to the conclusion that teachMe is sure to come in handy if you spend a lot of time in front of the computer performing various activities, but also want to learn words or new languages.
