Nowadays, the flow of information is so overwhelming that most of us need to jot down stuff every single day. If pen and paper is not your way to go, you might want to check out Notes. A straightforward notepad utility that can keep all your thoughts, future plans, and to-do lists together, in an organized fashion.

Once the application is installed you can start creating new categories that will hold your notes. Right from the start, two sample categories will be displayed. You can delete or rename those by opening their context menu.

Creating new categories can be done by clicking on the New category button located at the bottom of the UI. Each category can hold an unlimited amount of notes, so don't hold yourself back from adding them in.

The same creation process can be applied to creating notes. However, the notes have a text box where you can write or paste in whatever you need to remember. The text pane becomes scrollable once the visual limit is reached, so don't worry about a note's size.

If you don't like taking plain, soulless notes, you are in luck. The application sports a mixture of font customization options located on the text box's toolbar. You can change the font style, size, color, background color, and you can even insert pictures. This way, your notes will be colorful and pleasant to look at.

notes can be a worthy memo application, as it focuses on simplicity and functionality. Creating notes and organizing them into categories is the only thing this app is good at, but if you are looking for more complex tools, with a wider array of features, it might not suit you.
