Free Light

Free Light is an extremely basic application with one sole function, and even so, it manages to give users something they need, light. It's an application that transforms your Windows-based device into a light source, for moments when a lamp or other lighting devices are out of reach.

It manages to do this without nagging the user with ads or other useless add-ons. I'd say it is one of the most straightforward applications I've recently come across.

The whole idea is for the application to give users various levels of light, right? In order to do this, just like you'd do in real life, a slider allows for the selection of a certain level of light. Although this might sound simple, it really isn't in terms of the mechanisms situated under the hood. The user will basically deal with a color shade switcher which changes dark tones to lighter ones. These, in turn, create more or less light.

The slider is accurate and indicates the correct level of light. Depending on how you deal with your device, you can add plenty of functions to it with this simplistic program. It can become a flashlight, a lamp, or simply a bed light. I, myself, found it useful as a bed light, seeing as my bedside table was full, and a lamp wasn't really a suitable option.

If you thought this program was designed just for the common computer user, you are wrong. I tried it on an older Windows phone, and I was surprised to see it work its wonders. Indeed, if it has Windows on it, it should work and make life easier in terms of light in your room or area.

The best part yet is the fact that no advertisements were included in this program, so it manages to do its job without any sort of nagging on its behalf. I, therefore, concluded that this program aims to offer users something without necessarily attempting to gain some benefits over its use.
