HypnoQuit

Most smokers know how difficult it is to quit this habit once they decide to take this step. There are a lot of techniques invented to help them in this regard, including software applications.

HypnoQuit is a Java-based tool designed to help smokers quit by popping up subliminal messages on the screen and speaking them out loud using a robotic male voice. It features predefined messages and gives you the possibility to write custom ones.

The entire program is wrapped into a single .jar file that can be saved anywhere on the hard drive or copied to a USB flash disk to be able to run HypnoQuit on any computer.

Just make sure that Java Runtime Environment is installed or it won't be fired up. Also, you should know that extra files are automatically created and saved in the same location as the .jar, so the flash drive mustn't be write-protected.

The main window has a dark theme and simple layout, showing all options in plain sight. You can write up two eight distinct messages that you wish to regularly appear on the screen, select the preferred font style, and enable or disable sound.

Don't forget to click "Save messages" once you're done. If you're not feeling motivational, then you can go with the default, generic messages prepared by the developer which may be effective in your case, such as "I believe I can quit smoking", "I never want to smoke again", "I am aiming for 0 cigarettes", "I am not addicted to cigarettes" and "I love the sweet taste of oxygen".

There are no options implemented for configuring the message popup frequency or sound effects. Instead, you can exit the configuration panel knowing that HypnoQuit gets sent in the systray and runs in the background while you can continue with your typical desktop activity.

From time to time, the messages briefly appear in the center of the screen. At the same time, the robotic male voice speaks them out loud to draw your attention.
