If you have multiple monitors connected to your computer, then you already know that Windows allows very little configuration. More precisely, one of the few things you can do is set the inactivity interval after which the operating system switched them off.

Monitors is a small tool designed to bring you more control over a system that includes more of them. Not only can you toggle them off at the same time, but you can also quickly switch to a monitor to enable or disable it with just one click.

The idea behind the utility is to grant you more control over the monitors connected. Generally speaking, if you use more than two monitors, then their behavior is dictated by the way the DisplaySwitch.exe option is designed. What the tool does is to enable to control – switch on and off – all monitors connected.

As a side note, while initially the tool is optimized to work with dual monitors, it can be safely employed with three or more. Simply bear in mind that you should run it as Administrator in order to be able to make the changes and avoid errors.

A noteworthy option of the application is that it permits you to create a continuous monitor out of all hardware available and you can achieve this by accessing the Extend function. It is important to note that that the opened windows in the secondary monitors are not going to be recovered. The instances of the applications running on the primary monitor are not affected, however.

It is important to note that while the changes are taking place, the options associated with mouse and keyboard inputs are disabled for a few seconds, so do not fret.
