Multrin

We’ve all been there – having loads of apps opened simultaneously and wondering how to switch between them easily, but at the same time preview them and, if possible, keep all things organized. It’s no secret that working with multiple programs can sometimes turn into a hectic undertaking. Multrin is here to combat such problems, through a browser-based, tabbed interface that will help users better manage their apps and thus avoid clutter.

The main working principle behind this app is a tabbed interface, which resembles that one of a classic Internet browser. All that users need to do is to drape their apps onto the interface, and there they shall be kept, nested into neatly organized tabs.

However, there’s a catch to the drag-and-drop process, and that is the fact that the apps need to be dragged from their title bar, as there is no support for taking them directly from the taskbar. Nevertheless, this isn’t such a significant deal-breaker, but it would have been a nice addition to the app’s functionality.

Once apps have been added to the browsing interface, they will be available into their corresponding tabs, which offer a slight preview of their contents, through a title-bar styling of the tabs. However, it would have been a beneficial addition to have a “sneak-peek” type preview on mouse cursor hover.

Since this is an app-organizing software, one drawback which becomes apparent rather quickly is the lack of the ability to stack tabs and the apps themselves. Be it horizontally or vertically; there is no twin-view available. This could be an issue for more demanding users.

This software will allow people to manage their apps by using a tabbed interface that will keep all things neatly organized. Although it manages to offer a slightly better alternative to the built-in Windows tab browsing for opened apps, its lack of twin view and better tab preview make it less reliable.
