It's a good idea to keep close by, just in case, but that would be true for most software anyways. This is why even the idea of calling this a tool is far-fetched. It offers a fix to an issue that might not affect all users. PDF Task Killer will tend only to one specific issue you might encounter.

The application, while useful to some, does not provide extensive functionality and probably it should not either. It does what it advertises and could be what many Adobe Acrobat Reader users are looking for. Just like in any other similar case, use it to solve issues you might encounter with Acrobat or keep it in case you might end up in that situation.
