ScreenMonitor

If you are using multiple monitors, and some of them may not even be facing your way, being able to keep an eye on what is displayed on the screen can be very helpful.

ScreenMonitor is a small, open-source application that shows you everything from a certain display in a small window on your desktop. It can be controlled with hotkeys, enabling you to switch between monitors and change the scale or refresh rate easily.

No installation is required, so you can launch the application immediately after unpacking the archive. Your first monitor will be displayed by default, but you can switch to any other device using the arrow keys.

Aside from the title bar and status bar, there are no unnecessary interface elements to distract you. The monitored device, window scale and refresh rate are indicated in the status bar.

Aside from switching between devices, you can also increase or decrease the window’s scale using the arrow keys, as well as raise or lower the refresh rate by pressing the PageUp or PageDown keys. However, it would have been great if the intervals were customizable.

Of course, you can also resize the window’s dimensions manually, but neither this nor any of your other settings are remembered after shutting down the program.

If you want to monitor another display while working on something else, you may wish to press T in order to keep the window in the foreground regardless of which other applications are opened.

On the whole, ScreenMonitor is a well-designed, open-source utility that makes it very easy to keep an eye on any of your displays from the primary device. It is very easy to manage and features a minimalistic UI.
