VPS+

The development of frameworks such as the Protocol Stack Virtualization for IoT (Internet of Things) deployment was carried out in order to be able to address the scalable nature of such processes. The complexity and configuration required in such undertakings can sometimes surpass the human interaction capabilities, and this is why the virtualization process is required, in order to perform the required provisioning and configuration without any user interaction.

Designed in the spirit of the aforementioned framework, VPS+ will provide users with a platform that supports multi-dimensional deployment, as well as the required configuration and provisioning that is entailed when dealing with virtualized networking stacks.

At the core of the platform, lie subsequent agents, which constitute the main working units for the virtualization and the required controllers for the deployment process. The distributed architecture of VPS+ is characterized by the agent and controller interaction, as follows: the agents provide the services for the physical devices and are provisioned and configured by the controllers for achieving a preferred communication stack.

Last but not least, the two main components that characterize the process behind the platform, are the configuration (for defining the specifics of the protocol stack) and the actual coding, for performing further adjustments to the stack.
