UnZip

When it comes to compressing or archiving files, WinRAR is still dominant among user preferences. Despite that,  dozens of other similar applications were developed over the years, thus avoiding a single program to monopolize the field it serves. If you are looking for a file compressor and you'd like to try a new or at least a different utility, UnZip looks like a good candidate.

Most compressors can process multiple files in one go. Sadly, UnZip seems to lack this feature, as you are limited to one item per session. Moreover, there are no context menu additions after the installation is over, so saving time or cutting corners is not possible as you are strictly dependent on the UI.

As mentioned above, the program cannot be properly used outside the interface, but luckily, the looks are pleasant enough to avoid making you hate the app from the start.

Upon launching Unzip, you'll be met by two options, Compress File and Uncompress the file, nothing complicated here. No matter which action you choose, a small sub-menu with secondary features will become available for both.

Before wrapping up a file compression, you can consider adding a password for good measure. The combination can be easily added after you checking the Add password box. Make sure you don't skip this step if the data you're compressing is just for your eyes only.

UnZip brings nothing new to the table with regard to functionality or features, and it's somewhat inferior if compared to already established tools, as it lacks the batch compression feature. However, the tool is stable and fully functional, so if you want to give it a try nonetheless, don't hold yourself back.
