Portable Robo 3T

If you're a fan of MongoDB when it comes to NoSQL database solutions, you can turn to Robo 3T (previously known as Robomongo). It provides a user-friendly graphical interface for establishing MongoDB connections, along with practical tools for database management.

It has a no-install edition that can be saved to a USB flash drive and launched on any PC effortlessly. Just remember to set up MongoDB and fire up its service to be able to successfully use Portable Robo 3T. The app's packed in a clear-cut interface with neatly organized menus and buttons.

You're greeted by the connection manager that gives you the possibility to create profiles with multiple MongoDB connections. In addition to the connection name, address/port and type (direct connection, replica set), you can perform authentication if required, use an SSH tunnel or the SSL protocol, and set the default path to the database. The connections can be edited, cloned or removed with ease.

Since multiple tabs are supported, you can access various parts of the MongoDB database using the tree view on the left side. The tables show entries with keys, values and types. It's possible to modify the document's code in a common text editor with a dark background and syntax highlights, delete existing docs or add new ones, as well as copy JSON code.

Projects can be saved as JavaScript files. You can view log details, organize the toolbars (connections, open/save, execution), use Java, .NET or Python encoding, disable code completion, switch to fullscreen mode, and use keyboard shortcuts.

MondoDB connections were almost instantly made in our tests. Robo 3T remained light on system resources consumption througout its runtime. Taking this into account together with the intuitive management tools, Portable Robo 3T proves to be a capable client for MongoDB users.
