Portable Chemitorium

This is the portable edition of Chemitorium, a Windows app made to put together a 3D representation of molecules, based on the chemical compounds listed by the user.

Since there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the program files in any part of the hard disk and just click the EXE to run.

Another possibility is to save a copy of Chemitorium to a USB flash disk or other removable storage device, to be able to run it on any computer easily, as long as it has .NET Framework and DirectX installed.

An important aspect to take into consideration is that the tool does not create new entries in the Windows registry or Start menu, leaving the HDD clean after removal.

The GUI has a comfortable look and it is easy to navigate through. A periodic system is displayed right above the draw board, but you can hide it. 

All you have to do is select chemical elements and place them on the board. You can increase or decrease the board size, cut, copy, paste and delete objects, and hide oxidation states.

After switching to 3D view, you can rotate the graphical object and zoom in and out, set the X and Y rotation speed, sequence length and frames per second, as well as change the picture size and render the animation to AVI format for further use. The render mode can be selected between wave effect plus reflection, still plus reflection, and so on.

Advanced users are free to tinker with device settings, view and analyze log data, change the background color, as well as copy the image to the Clipboard. Plus, the picture can be exported to JPG, BMP, PNG, TGA or DDS format.

Chemitorium uses moderate CPU and RAM, has a good response time and rapidly renders animations. We have not come across any problems throughout our evaluation, since the tool did not hang, crash or pop up error messages.

Chemitorium has some pretty handy features dedicated to creating modules and representing them in 3D mode.
