X-GenealogyJ is a comprehensive and accessible application designed for both researchers and hobbyists to add, organize and manage different family members and create a complex genealogy tree. It doesn't require any installation so it can be run from any computer using a USB flash drive. In order for the app to work Java needs to be present on the hard disk.

The provided interface is intuitive and user-friendly divided into a table and tree view, an editor panel to which you can add optional tabs, and a timeline pane at the bottom. For a less cluttered look, you can easily close unnecessary tabs by right-clicking on each one.

A sample database is offered at first, but a new one can be created with a relevant name. A root individual has to be inserted and after that, you can enter spouses, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters.

The app lets you add relationships and events, add multiple notations, multimedia records, submitters and sources, as well as select blueprints for families and set bookmarks. In the edit window, you can add general details, like full name, suffix, birth and death date, if relevant, along with education, ID number, nationality and religion.
