Made as the portable counterpart of OST & PST Forensics, this edition doesn't require installation so it can be launched from a USB flash drive on any computer. The notable aspect about the tool is that it doesn't depend on anything to work properly, including MS Exchange or Outlook.

Once you reach the main app window with the clean appearance and intuitive layout, you can get started by opening a PST or OST file to view its contents. Log details are shown in this area so you can keep track of every action made by OST & PST Forensics Portable.

The folders contained by the email file are neatly structured in a hierarchical view on the left side, making it possible to quickly access the inbox, outbox, deleted items, drafts, contacts, RSS feeds, journal entries, notes, junk email, or any other locations.

After picking a folder, the software application displays a list of all available messages, including their bodies. Information can be copied to the clipboard or saved to file in CSV or XML format. Besides the fact that you can use an integrated search function to rapidly locate a specific message, there are no other aspects worth mentioning about this software application.

As expected, it ran smoothly on the latest Windows version in our tests, having minimal impact on the system's performance. All aspects considered, OST & PST Forensics Portable offers a simple and straightforward solution for exploring OST and PST messages as well as extracting the necessary information. However, there are many other similar tools out there and this one doesn't bring anything new to the table.
