DX Toolbox Portable

Made as the no-install counterpart of DX Toolbox, DX Toolbox Portable is a lightweight and comprehensive tool dedicated to users passionate about radio analysis. It facilitates a simple interface for fetching solar and geomagnetic conditions affecting radio propagation, depending on the selected location.

Since there's no setup required, you can extract the files from the downloaded archive and just double-click the .exe to reach the main app window. Plus, you can keep the app stored on a USB flash drive to effortlessly run it on any machine.

You can get started by specifying the latitude and longitude of your location, in order for DX Toolbox Portable to autodetect settings. You can set the UTC offset, configure alarm options, and set a callsign.

Besides data surrounding the solar flux, space weather, geomagnetic and solar radiations storms, you can learn about radio blackouts, solar winds, and magnetic fields. The GOES X-ray flux can be inspected in a graph, along with the solar wind, magnetic field, proton and electron flux.

The software application can display world maps in grayline, with the propagation conditions applied, with the D layer absorption, and Aurora. It's possible to schedule alerts, extract images, generate reports, and use a grid calculator. Beans can be analyzed in a separate window.

You can make MUF/LUF calculations, select the DX cluster, view a shortwave scheduler, analyze the propagation path estimation for time, access AM stations, examine the ionosonde plot, and so on.

It worked without any errors on Windows 10 throughout our evaluation and had minimal impact on system performance. Although it's not intuitive enough to be used by those with little experience in radio analysis tools, it comes packed with many useful options for experts.
