SterJo Firefox History Portable

SterJo Firefox History Portable is a tiny and portable piece of software that provides you direct access to the Firefox history to display visited webpages. It comes in handy for all users who don't know how to access the built-in Firefox settings to do this or who simply don't want to go through the trouble.

Since there is no installation involved, you can unzip the downloaded archive and double-click the .exe to bring up the main app window. Because it doesn't affect registry entries, there is no risk of increasing the risk of system stability issues.

Provided that you have installed Mozilla Firefox in its default directory, the browser history is autodetected by SterJo Firefox History Portable and shown in a list at startup. In addition to the URL of each visited page, you can view the window title, along with the number and time of visits.

Through the right-click menu of any selected entry, you can copy its information to the clipboard or open the URL in the browser. There's also an option for saving all info to file in the "File" menu. However, an error popped up on the screen when attempting to perform this action during our evaluation, after which the application quit to the desktop right away.

Another setting in the "File" menu is reserved for picking a different Firefox profile with the help of a a popup file navigator. This works not only for cases when you have multiple profiles saved within the web browser but also when Firefox is installed in another location than default, or if you're using the portable edition of the browser.

Besides the previously mentioned error, things ran smoothly in our tests, which shouldn't be a surprise when considering the simplicity behind this software utility. Too bad that SterJo Firefox History Portable cannot monitor Firefox history in real time in order to capture visited websites while running it with the browser side by side. There's also no option to refresh modifications.
