Taskbar Twitch

If you are regularly watching Twitch, then you probably noticed the numerous bugs with the notification system. Other times, streamers forget to turn on their notifications and hence, users are unaware that their favorite channel is live. Taskbar Twitch is a simple and straightforward utility that enables Twitch viewers to find out when their favorite channels go live and don’t miss content again.

The program is portable, so all you need to do to get started is access the executable. The app does not have an interface per se, but rather a small icon in the System Tray that keeps an eye on the channels monitored. Before you can reap the benefits, first you need to configure the channels and the players you commonly use to watch them. Rest assured that this can be done from right clicking on the tool and opening the configuration file.

The first step entails heading to the Twitch Development Console page and getting the Client ID and Secret Token. The information needs to be copied to the config.json file. Afterwards, you should change the channels list to the ones you are interested in. The program also allows you to set the video player preferred when watching Twitch.

Once you do the aforementioned configurations, you should be able to view the list of Channels displayed in the tab with the same name. You can add and delete the channels any time by editing the config.json file. Once one of the channels listed goes live, you will receive a small notification and you can start watching right away.
