X-Angry IP Scanner

X-Angry IP Scanner is the portable edition of Angry IP Scanner - a compact piece of software that scans the IP address of any computer, in order to find out if the connection is question is still active. It can be seamlessly handled by users of any level of experience.

Since installation is not a requirement, you can just extract the program files to any directory on the hard drive, and run the executable file.

Alternatively, you can save Angry IP Scanner to a USB flash drive or similar storage unit, and run it on any computer. This way, you can carry the app with you whenever you're on the move.

More importantly, the Windows Registry does not receive new entries (minimizing the risk of system failure), and no files are left behind on the hard drive after deleting the tool.

The app's interface has no impressive elements from the visual perspective, but its layout is pretty intuitive. You can specify the IP range or host name of the computer, and initialize the quick scanning procedure with the click of a button. The results reveal the scan time, IP range, total scanned IPs and "alive" hosts.

You can paste an IP address from the Clipboard, make a class B or C range from the respective IPs, as well as customize which elements to scan, between ports, host names, computer and group names, user names, MAC addresses and TTLs (Time To Live). All these details can be exported to file (TXT, CSV, HTM, XML or LST) for further analysis.

The straightforward software application needs a very low amount of CPU and system memory to work properly, so it doesn't put a strain on the computer's overall performance. It has a good response time and quickly finishes a scanning procedure, without causing Windows to hang, crash or show error notifications.
