The introduction of the TCP (Transmission Control Protocol), together with the IP (Internet Protocol) has been able to provide users with reliable, ordered, and error-verified transmission of information in the form of a stream of octets between apps that are running on hosts, connected via an IP network. This specialized application was built specifically to offer users the means to test the communication and transmission of data over the TCP/IP protocols, by relying on opening persistent socket communications to TCP servers.

The application will automatically send user-defined commands, and await for replies. Once these have been received, the said command is repeated, and users will be able to define multiple parameters, such as a timeout, which can be set with error detection. The application can also send pings to certain IP addresses in case of a timeout.

Besides the main command, users will also be able to input and specify conditions for the timeout and select a preferred TCP protocol. Lastly, the included logging feature will display all the inferred actions, offering users an overview of the undertaken steps.
