When you need to cooperate with someone remotely, it is very useful for you and the other person/people to be able to hear each other.

Whether it is for gaming or work purposes, voice chat is the best solution. But if you are in or around a noisy environment, that can annoy the other participant(s).

Also, maybe someone else is talking around you and you do not want anyone else to hear that conversation. Whatever the case, PushToTalk is a good way to ensure people can mainly hear what you are saying.

This program gives you control over your microphone. It lets you bind it with any button from your keyboard or mouse and will keep it muted until you toggle it on.

Its UI is small and pretty straightforward. You can set the delay time for muting and unmuting the mic and, of course, choose which button(s) you want to press in order to control it.

After the configuration is over, you can safely close the window and the program will get stored away to the system tray. Keep in mind that in order to have the microphone unmuted, you need to press and hold the selected button.

To help you figure out whether the device is on or off, the application will display a floating icon on the screen. Its opacity can be configured from the same UI. Also, if it bothers you, it can be removed.

When it appears, the icon will remain red when the microphone is muted. When it unmutes, it will turn green. The program will also make a sound whenever you turn it on or off, to help those who do not want the icon on the screen.

If people are using programs that already have this feature or microphones with an inbuilt button, then PushToTalk wouldn't do anything else for them. But for anyone else, then it can be of great use.
