Color dictates a lot in our lives, even our moods, and its perception through our eyes can change a number of things. The importance and impact of color in the digital world are also prominent, and this is why being able to perform tweaks and set your preferred colors can be paramount.

Right off the bat, I noticed that isimSoftware Color Picker comes sporting a very basic design, whose layout and interface address only the essentials in terms of the functionality of the color-picking process.

Having said that, I don’t negate that simplicity, and given its scope and intended purpose, I find it to be advantageous, especially to novices or those who might be seeking a direct, no-clutter solution for learning more about colors.

Selecting the screen area for color analysis is easy, and the app provides a crosshair that can be easily dragged across the screen, to the desired area. The corresponding RGB and HTML color codes are displayed instantly.

However, when thinking about the potential weakness of the app’s approach, I couldn’t help but crave the automatic clipboard sending for the color codes, especially the HTML one. This could be highly useful in future iterations.

Decent color picker, which offers straightforward operation in a simple package, leaving little to be desired in terms of functionality, but lacks automated clipboard sending for the identified color codes.
