Discord Gif Splitter

Discord emotes cannot be too large, as you are not allowed to upload an image over 128px in size. Naturally, some pictures or GIFs cannot be downsampled without losing too much detail, so you end up having to split them into multiple parts, and then load them in chat all at once.

Discord Gif Splitter is an open-source utility that makes this job a lot simpler. It serves as a wrapper for FFmpeg, enabling you to quickly and easily cut a GIF into multiple parts and then use them in Discord chat.

First of all, you need to make sure FFmpeg is present in the same folder as the application, as the GIFs cannot be processed otherwise. A version with FFmpeg already included is available in the download section.

To start processing an image, simply drop it in the main UI. You will see a preview of the grid, which you can customize by setting the size of each box and the number of columns and rows.

Once you’ve set up the grid so that individual GIFs will be under 128px in size, you can go ahead and export the images to your preferred location. While you can choose from several formats, most users will probably want to export them as GIF files.

The application also creates a text file that contains the codes you need to load the GIFs in Discord chat. The whole process is quick and very straightforward, so even novices should not run into any issues.

Of course, Discord Gif Splitter can have other uses, but it was mainly intended to help you create emote walls in Discord. It is very intuitive, and it doesn’t even need to be installed on your PC.
