ExifToolGUI Portable

ExifToolGUI Portable is a user-friendly graphical interface that complements the powerful ExifTool command-line application. Tailored for those who prefer a visual approach to managing metadata in multimedia files, it simplifies the process of reading, writing, and editing metadata information.

The program doesn’t require installation, so just launch the executable and select the location where it can decompress. Even though the GUI is rather rugged and, frankly, gives a 2000s vibe, it is easy to navigate. The interface consists of three main area, with the most left one being the place where you browse for the desired folder.

The contents of the selected folder can be further analyzed in the middle panel, including relevant information such as file format, size or date modified, for instance. You can select the file types to show from the Char tab and simplify your work, if necessary.

The most right panel is where you view the current metadata of the selected file and do the necessary modifications. Here you can view and edit multiple parameters, including EXIF, XMP, Maker, IPTC and custom tags if defined.

In the eventuality that the file doesn’t include a lot of metadata, then you can consider importing the information from your camera settings or other files. The app includes a dedicated menu where you can extract detailed information about images, audio, and video files, providing insights into camera settings, creation dates, and other essential details.

You can also transfer metadata from one file to another, ensuring consistency across your collections. The feature is particularly valuable when you want to replicate metadata settings, such as geotags or copyright information, from a reference file to multiple target files.
