Eyedropper

You might often come across a color that you wish to use in other projects, but there is no easy way to extract it directly without relying on a specialized application.

Eyedropper is one of the simplest programs you will ever come across, but it is a great tool for users who frequently need to grab colors from their desktop. It can generate Hex codes and RGB values, and it is very easy to use.

You will notice that the program is distributed in the form of a single, small executable file. As you can probably imagine, you don’t need to install anything before using it, and it will not leave any traces behind on the host PC.

Since a color picking tool can come in handy in many situations, it is nice to see that this application can be placed on portable storage devices and used on the go without complications.

Now, you shouldn’t expect anything spectacular from Eyedropper, as it is designed to provide users with the simplest possible method of grabbing colors. It features a minimalistic UI, and the main window cannot be resized.

Once you click the New Color button, a selection tool will be attached to the mouse cursor, and the color underneath will be magnified for easier identification. The program then displays the RGB values and Hex color code, and you can copy the latter to the clipboard.

On the whole, Eyedropper isn’t an innovative or even particularly impressive utility, but it gets the job done. It enables you to select any color from your desktop and learn its RBG values and Hex code easily, but it does not offer any other noteworthy features.
