Auto Typer

Auto Typer is a very simple Windows application that simulates basic macro commands. It can be used to trigger various commands on the hard drive (e.g. open file, launch application, shut down computer), as well as to navigate web pages.

The installation procedure is done almost instantly and with minimum effort. Once it finishes, a very small window pops up and contains a dialog box and two buttons for running the macro and stopping it, respectively. This represents the entire interface of the program.

All you have to do is type or paste text in the box and click the start button to run the macro. It will enter looping mode until stopped. Unfortunately, there are no features available here.

The piece of kit does not put a strain on the overall performance of the computer, since it requires a very low amount of CPU and RAM. It is very responsive to commands and works fine.

We have not come across any issues throughout our tests, as the tool did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. On the other hand, it contains very limited features which make it look like an app ideal for getting familiarized with creating and executing macros. Those with little or no experience in such software should have no problems in using Auto Typer.
