Notepad2 Portable

Made as the portable edition of Notepad2, this is a comprehensive text editor and IDE that comes equipped with several powerful features, such as syntax highlighting support, customizable schemes, and multiple encoding modes.

Since installation isn't required, you can extract the program files anywhere on the disk and just click the executable to launch Notepad2. Otherwise, you can save it to a pen drive to directly run it on any PC with minimum effort. It doesn't modify Windows registry settings.

Wrapped up in a familiar interface, Notepad2 keeps a clear-cut structure and lets you select the encoding method between ANSI, Unicode, Unicode Big Endian, UTF-8, UTF-8 with signature, and others.

It's possible to swap text, duplicate, delete, split or join entire lines, join paragraphs, wrap columns, insert HTML/XML tags, encoding identifiers or filenames, encode or decode URLs, convert characters to hexadecimal code or vice versa, merge or remove blank lines, as well as resort to an advanced search function with filters (e.g. regular expressions, transform backslashes).

Notepad+ lets you select a syntax scheme (e.g. web source code, CSS style sheet, JavaScript), customize schemes when it comes to the associated filename extensions and colors, show a long line marker, zoom in and out, show whitespace and line endings, and so on.

No error dialogs were shown in our tests, and the software application didn't hang or crash. It had a good response time and minimal impact on computer performance, using low CPU and memory.

Notepad+ comes loaded with resourceful options and configuration parameters for editing text and writing programming code, and it should meet the requirements of a lot of users.
