reCsv Editor Portable

reCsv Editor is a feature-rich text editor for advanced users who wish to edit CSV files using comprehensive tools. It shows text contents in tables and gives you the possibility to manipulate cells.

The USB edition of the program is dedicated to users looking for portable utilities. Since it doesn't have to be installed, you can save it to a USB flash drive to run it on any PC. However, this isn't mandatory. For example, you can launch reCsv Editor from any folder on your PC. Because it's built in Java, you must have Java Runtime Environment installed.

As far as the interface is concerned, reCsv Editor keeps things plain and simple. The design of the title bar of opened windows takes us back to Windows XP. Sample CSV files are provided by the developer to give you an idea of how this application works.

In the popup file browser, you can configure CSV input settings, such as specifying the field separator or quote. Normal and Unicode CSVs are supported, along those with fixed widths, schemas and XML-formatted content.

It's possible to copy, cut, paste, insert and delete records, manage fields, resort to a find-and-replace function, update CSV columns, jump to a particular line of text, sort information by any field, and save file descriptions to XML format.

You can compare CSV files, build and run scripts, change the CSV file structure, generate code in Java, Ruby or Python, as well as export data to CSV, HTML and other filetypes. As far as program options are concerned, you can customize text field colors, change the interface language, change the JARs loaded in the software application, and more.

The application had minimal impact on the latest Windows edition in our tests. All aspects considered, reCsv Editor comes packed with comprehensive features dedicated to CSV editing.
