A programmable logic controller or PLC is a an industrial computer control system that can automate typical industrial electromechanical processes, by monitoring the state of input devices and making decisions based upon a custom program to control the state of output devices. These devices are programmed based on either Instruction Lists(IL) or Structured Texts(ST).

The program supports a wide range of POU files, such as Moeller SucoSoft files, CoDeSys V2.3 export based files, Siemens Instruction List, Structured Control Language (SCL) sources, KW-Software IL and ST sources.

Portable PLCEdit allows you to quickly edit the source code file of programmable logic controllers, in order to modify their behavior. The application offers you syntax highlighting, which is a highly useful feature, since it points out which words from your source code are specific to the programming language and which are user defined.

Aside from this, the program is portable, meaning that it does not require installation, nor does it modify registries on your computer. It can simply be ran as soon as copied, either on your computer or on a removable flash drive.
